Gospel Gathering with Carmen Imes

Join us on September 24th to hear Carmen Imes speak on Exodus and the Presence of God.

On the pages of Exodus, we encounter not just a liberation story, but a story of God's abiding presence. The Israelites discover a God who has heard their cries and promises to be with them. After centuries of building for Pharaoh's aggrandizement, God invites them to build him a home so that he can dwell among them. Because of our faith in Jesus, we join the community gathered around the presence of God, empowered to join his mission.

About the Speaker: Carmen Joy Imes (PhD, Wheaton) serves as Associate Professor of Old Testament at Talbot School of Theology at Biola University. She is the author of Bearing God's Name: Why Sinai Still Matters, Being God's Image: Why Creation Still Matters, and Becoming God's Family: Why the Church Still Matters. She is also a gifted teacher and communicator, Dr. Imes has spoken widely through academic lectures, interviews, sermons, and chapel messages. She is also the host of two weekly video podcast series — Torah Tuesday and Top Two Books — through which she helps audiences engage Scripture more deeply and grow in their commitment to knowing and following Christ.
